A detox for your central heating

Power flush

Does your heating take a long time to get hot? Do your radiators have cold spots - hot at the top and cold at the bottom? Time to consider a power flush.

What is a power flush?

A power flush eliminates the build-up of sludge, rust and debris in your central heating system, allowing the water to circulate round the system much more efficiently, saving money and keeping you warmer. If left, the build-up of grime can seriously affect the performance of your heating system.

A deep cleanse using a state of the art machine will work wonders; Nu-Eco Heat use Kamco Power flush machines and Sentinel X100 and X800 cleaning and preventing chemicals.

Signs that you might need a power flush

There are a number of signs to look for before deciding to go ahead with a power flush.

  • Cold areas on radiators

  • Excessive noise from the boiler or the heating system pump

  • Discoloured water when you bleed the radiators

  • Slow warming of the heating system

  • Tap water getting cloudy

We always recommend having a power flush if you are changing your boiler, particularly if we install a condensing boiler, as contaminants that are present could damage the internal pipe work in your new boiler.

The power flush process

We connect our powerful Kamco power flush machine using high flow/low pressure water circulation to the central heating system, to break down and remove any debris which is clogging up your boiler, radiators and pipes. We can safely clean your combination boilers as well as regular boilers.

We use Sentinel X800, a powerful cleaner to break down any sludge and limescale which prevent the free circulation of hot water through your system. We also use Sentinel X100 which inhibits future sludge build up and rust. These chemical cleaners are acid-based and the acid is flushed out on completion of the power flush.

We can show you the muck collected from the system…..not for the faint hearted!

It really depends on your central heating system as to how long a full powerflush will take, but in general we allow 6 hours.

Nu-Eco Heat prices start at £400 inclusive of chemicals but please do call or email us to see if we have any special promotions.

A deep cleanse of your system will get your central heating running like new and is an investment which will reduce running costs and give better heat efficiency. We also recommend carrying it out at the same time as your annual service – contact us for special rates.
